How review syncing works

How often Revly checks for new reviews, what happens on first import, and what to do when a sync fails.

Once a channel is connected, Revly checks it for new reviews automatically - you never need to trigger anything by hand. Here is what happens behind the scenes and what to expect.

How often Revly checks for new reviews

The check frequency depends on your plan:

  • Free - once every 24 hours

  • Core - every 6 hours

  • Team and Agency - every 2 hours

These quick checks catch new reviews fast. On top of them, Revly runs a deeper scan of each channel daily and a full sweep of the entire listing weekly - that is how edited reviews, developer replies, and removed reviews get picked up (see Removed reviews and edit history).

Syncing on demand

Need the latest right now - say, after a launch or a review campaign? Open Channels and click Sync Now on the channel. The status badge switches to syncing while it runs.

Your first import

When you connect a channel, recent reviews appear within minutes. If your listing has hundreds or thousands of reviews, the full history backfills over the next several sync cycles rather than all at once - your dashboard totals will climb until the import completes. This is normal and needs no action from you.

When syncing fails

If a sync fails, the channel shows an error badge and Revly retries on the next scheduled check. A channel that keeps failing is set to paused so it does not retry forever. To recover:

  • Click View Source and confirm your review page still loads on the platform (listings occasionally move or get renamed).

  • If the page is fine, click Sync Now to retry immediately.

  • Still stuck? Message us through the in-app chat and we will take a look.

Good to know

  • Syncing is read-only - Revly never posts anything to your listings.

  • Each plan includes a monthly volume of processed reviews, shown as Reviews This Month in Settings - see Plans, limits, and billing.

  • New-review notifications for Slack and email digests are covered in Settings - they fire whenever a sync finds something new.
